Happy Halloween everybody!

I was at a Halloween party last night, which was loads of fun. I got to wear a straight jacket and had some nice wounds attached to my face, arms and neck. It was my first time using liquid latex, but I thought the wounds turned out better than I thought they would; I didn't take any pictures, though. But perhaps I'll attempt it a second time and will definitely photograph it.

Anyways, now, I'm sorta sick. Again (I stayed home from school on Thursday). Which I find incredibly sucky, cause now I have to spend Halloween at home. Although I at first feared I would have to spend it all alone cooped up in my room, :iconsquirrellove: saved my day and is coming to visit me later to watch a scary movie or something. ^^ Thanks a lot!

Meli, over and out.

Yay! New Journal Entry.

I was on vacation in Germany and France with my family. ^^ We were in Munich, Köln (Phantasialand), Strasbourg and Weil am Rhein...and, we had GREAT weather. Really beautiful cities, although I guess we didn't see too much of Köln, as we were only in Phantasialand (Germany's best amusement park, according to their award); which was awesome as well.

Finished my job on July 31st, and, god, it was strenuous, physically and especially mentally (I worked at our local stable and the building around it). Why? Well, we had a visit from a "Pferderipper" as they call them here, animal abusers, basically. And, they returned again while I was on vacation as well. Police have been here a few times, so far no good, but there was an attempted 3rd visit two nights ago; when the police arrived, he had already left. Also, my colleague and one of the instructors quit her job as well (while I was on vacation...), so now they are in desperate need of a help out. Perhaps this time I'll squeeze more money out of them.

On a brighter note, we had a Mounted Games event at our stable on Saturday, which was a HUGE amount of fun, and the horses/ponies thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Most of the games were team games, so those were incredibly fun. Perhaps I'll upload some of my dad's photos for you to look at and be jealous of our fun. :P

And one of my bigger excitements, tonight is the Late Night Shopping at the McArthur Glenn Designer Outlet in Parndorf, and since my dad was one of the major architects we get a VIP invite every year. Last time it was pouring, but I remember the first time we were there it was awesome. Delicious food and everything's paid. Of course, this time I'm a bit older, too, so I can enjoy the awesomeness of getting a bunch of pretty, pretty clothes for a cheaper price. (most of the stuff they have their is 'on sale' during Late Night Shopping, and VIPs get an additional -20% off.) Oh, and yes, we ARE getting a red carpet. ^^

So, that was August; so far.

Toodles.

Tenosynovitis

  • Mood: Pain
  • Listening to: Aerosmith -- Kings and Queens
  • Reading: Franz Kafka -- Die Verwandlung
  • Watching: Supernatural -- Season 1 Salvation
  • Eating: Rice
  • Drinking: Orange Juice
I've got frickin' tenosynovitis, which means I should refrain from being on the computer or moving my wrist all together. Seems like an awful hard thing to do, and I certainly don't feel like sitting on the couch all day watching TV; although I guess I could do a Supernatural Season 1 Marathon since I haven't watched any of those DVDs yet. Oh, well.

I'm actually writing with my left hand only and it seems to be quite the difficulty. -whimper-

Anyways, I went to the new horse and riding equipment store near here and boy, is that store awesome. It's nice and big and reminded me a lot of the stores in Jackson, since it had that Western-Stable feel going on. Very, very nice store indeed and good prices. I got myself two new numnahs (saddle blankets), a maroon-purple and a green one; plus one halter and a matching leading rope in similar color the the green saddle blanket. I'm definitely going back there again soon to get some stuff for stable duty, since I'll start work in less than two months.

That's about it for now.
